Stumbled across this beautiful USB mixtape project by Alice Wang. Although this is just a prototype, based on the specs, the custom USB player would allow for full volume control, and would even have the ability to crossfade between albums. I can just imagine trying to dj with one of these. FTMFW!

This is definitely one of those cases where I’d have to recognize the collective unconscious at work, as Nueva Forma has been discussing their next NFSC vol. 2 compilation, and introducing it on a USB thumb drive. Maybe if we’re lucky, we can score one of those nifty USB players from Alice, if she ever decides to move these into production. :)
